Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced PMC Commissioning Engineer to support the commissioning, start-up, testing, and turnover activities for a prestigious Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra, Iraq. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, the Commissioning Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring that commissioning activities comply with project specifications, safety standards, and international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Commissioning Manager in implementing and maintaining an effective safety process for all commissioning activities.Collaborate with the project management team to ensure commissioning schedules align with overall project timelines.Review EPC contractor’s commissioning procedures, plans, and documentation for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.Supervise commissioning activities, including start-up and functional testing, to ensure safe and efficient execution.Monitor and report progress of commissioning activities, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions as necessary.Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for potential issues during commissioning.Coordinate with the EPC contractor and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless execution of commissioning activities.Assist in the preparation and review of turnover documentation and ensure all deliverables are completed for project handover.Ensure quality assurance processes are followed during commissioning to maintain compliance with international standards and project specifications.Provide regular updates and progress reports to the Commissioning Manager for inclusion in overall project reports.

QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.Experience:10-15 years of experience in commissioning and start-up activities, with a focus on Oil & Gas or pipeline projects.Proven experience in a PMC environment is highly desirable.Skills:Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, start-up procedures, and international standards.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders.Proficiency in project management and reporting tools.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic project environment.
