Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced PMC QA/QC Lead to oversee quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities for a high-profile Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Basra, Iraq. The QA/QC Lead will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the project’s quality management system, ensuring compliance with international standards, project specifications, and client requirements. This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strong commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage the project’s Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with project requirements and international standards.Oversee and manage QA/QC activities, including inspections, audits, and testing, across all project phases.Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and client expectations.Monitor contractor and subcontractor QA/QC performance, ensuring adherence to approved procedures and quality plans.Review and approve quality documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality manuals.Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction activities, ensuring proper implementation of QA/QC processes.Lead and coordinate internal and external quality audits, addressing non-conformities and implementing corrective actions.Maintain detailed records of quality performance, test results, and inspection reports.Provide training and guidance to project staff and contractors on QA/QC standards and best practices.Report quality performance metrics, risks, and recommendations to project management and stakeholders.

QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.Experience:12-15 years of experience in QA/QC roles, with a focus on Oil & Gas or pipeline construction projects.Proven experience in a PMC environment is highly desirable.Certifications: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent quality certifications are required.Skills:Strong knowledge of QA/QC principles, processes, and international standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, API).Proficiency in quality management tools and documentation systems.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong leadership and communication abilities for effective team and stakeholder coordination.Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
