JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

Job Summary -- Essential Functions/Duties

Working under general technical guidance, a Metrology Technician II specializes in ground-based electronic systems and works on various types of electronic equipment and related devices.

Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:

Independently determine and perform operations required to calibrate and certify electronic and physical/dimensional measuring and test equipment, maintaining traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), U.S. Department of Commerce, or by reference to natural constants Utilize calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy and precision requirements Identify magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to determine reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms Diagnose and repair malfunction in complex measuring and test equipment using theories of operation, block diagrams, schematics, logic trees, and software diagnostics to the component level Provides intermediate to advanced calibration and repair services on electronic, electro-mechanical, physical, dimensional, mechanical, and optical Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) Inspect measuring and test equipment for preventive maintenance, cleanliness, and safety requirements Analyze and interpret results of measurements and calibrations using mathematical formulas and document results of measurements and calibrations on calibration certificates and calibration correction charts Perform other job-related duties, as required.

Desired Requires

Knowledge of the USAF Metrology and Calibration Program or equivalent Knowledge of Quality Management System (USAF, ISO 17025, ANSI Z540) (3) years of verifiable recent experience in a metrology position performing calibration and repair of TDME Military Experience a plus

Requirements -- Education, Technical, and Work Experience

Education and/or training in electronics from an accredited college, technical school, or equivalent military training, completion of a metrology training and certification program, and a minimum of three years of direct experience in a metrology position are required for this position.

In addition, a Metrology Technician II must possess the following qualifications:

International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET) certification Demonstrated proficiency in general electronics Good understanding of electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems Good understanding of test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot to the component level and competency in soldering.

Salary

The expected salary range for this position is $82,201.60 to $84,281.60 annually.

Working Conditions

Employee may be required to work some shift work, at remote locations, and occasional over-night assignments.

Work is generally performed indoors. Packing, unpacking, loading and unloading of equipment, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, (anything heavier requires two or more people or mechanical assistance) are required. Driving a company or government vehicle may be required.
