Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for monitoring daily statistics, billing reports, reconciliation of charges and month-end statistics. Will research / edit daily OPS reports and handle billing questions. Will plan, develop, and oversee the implementation of the Laboratory Compliance Plan. Will supervise and oversee the Point of Care Testing program for South Texas Health System—validating equipment, ordering and issuing supplies, reviewing QC, coordinating proficiency testing and providing initial training and maintaining competency of all users. Will ensure that the POC testing program remains compliant with accrediting agency requirements. This position summary contains the most relevant duties and responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: 1. 3 years post graduate hospital experience and previous Point of Care experience preferred. 2. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer. EDUCATION / LICENSURE: 1. Registered Medical Technologist such as MT(ASCP), CLS(NCA), MT(AMT) OR Techs newly certified as of 2004, are required to participate in a Certification Maintenance Program to continue certification every 3 years. Failure to participate will invalidate certification after the initial 3 year certification period.
