We're seeking an experienced and collaborative individual to lead our podcast content acquisition and industry relations efforts. In this role you will work with our global podcast team to identify new opportunities, on-board new partners, negotiate content deals, secure additional rights from existing partners, and create and execute acquisition strategies to support the growth of our podcast business. You will work closely with cross-functional partners at Amazon Music (e.g., Product, Legal, Content, Marketing, Finance) and across other Amazon orgs as relevant. You will develop and maintain relationships with priority external partners (e.g., broadcasters, publishers, hosting companies), managing negotiations and execution of contractual commitments.

Key job responsibilities
- Identify, prioritize, and on-board content, data and other industry partners.
- Manage podcast partner portfolio, ensuing you and the team are providing a seamless white-glove customer experience by maintaining scheduled communications and alignment on cross-promotional opportunities.
- Execute mid to large-sized opportunities independently in support of larger team initiatives
- Negotiate and secure creative cross-promotional campaigns with creators, publishers and networks.
- Work closely with internal teams including Product, Legal, Finance and Marketing to achieve positive negotiation outcomes for Amazon Music.
- Monitor the competitive landscape to help inform Amazon Music's strategic priorities and expansion opportunities.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of business development, content acquisition or industry relations experience.
- Bilingual, English and Japanese (speaking, listening, writing, reading).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience negotiating licensing, business development, or other third-party agreements.
- Ability to drive your own work independently, leading multiple projects with many stakeholders.
- Experience working on a multi-national team with stakeholders locally and abroad.
- Understanding of podcast, spoken word or entertainment landscape in Japan, including key services and business models.
- Quantitative analysis, problem solving and project management skills
- High standards and a high attention to detail.
