Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ **Responsibilities:** GENERAL PURPOSE: Performs technical radiographic assignments of diagnostic nature in a podiatry setting which require theoretical insight. Exercises skill, judgment and knowledge of the principles and methods of the radiographic technical field. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** + Facilitates patient flow and monitors room availability to ensure patient and provider needs are met. Escorts patients from the waiting area to exam rooms and notifies provider of patient arrival. Obtains and records initial patient vital signs. Anticipates specimen collection and prepares requisitions for specimens as appropriate. + Transfers, positions and instructs patients. Provides immobilization, shielding and dose modification devices. + Operates X-ray equipment, ensuring prescribed diagnostic procedure is delivered. Ensures correct patient positioning. Maintains accurate markings. Ensures patients and technicians are protected from excessive exposure to radiation and other hazards. + Maintains patient records, recording all necessary diagnostic information in compliance with state laws. Maintains departmental records as required. + Establishes and maintains inventory of supplies for exam rooms and procedure rooms. Prepares equipment for procedures, removes and restocks to the appropriate area. Follows infection control policies in all circumstances. + Collects data for Quality Assurance. Performs other support activities and special projects as directed by nursing or Podiatrists. + Establishes rapport with patients and works with podiatrists and nurses to provide treatment to the patient. + Completes patient registration as needed.
