The Poker Manager is responsible for supervising dealers on duty in the Poker Room and guest activity during their assigned shifts.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

- Enforce the procedures of each game

- Notify the manager of any needed repair/replacement of gaming equipment

- Ensure that every game is counted correctly at opening and closing

- Monitor the games for fills and credits

- Verify that all gaming equipment is place in its designated area at the end of the gaming day

- Track player activity

- Meet and develop relationships with players

- Notify the shift manager of any extraordinary or unusual circumstances on the game or in the pit

- Sign up new guests for Marquee Rewards cards

- Rate guests that show a rating card, request a marker, or are in over $500 and have an average bet of $25.00 or higher

- Follow all safety rules

- Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees regarding performance

- Adhere to departmental quality standards       

- Answers inquiries pertaining to Poker policies and services and resolves occupants’ complaints while supporting all customer service programs

- Responsible for directing and managing Poker tournaments

- Ensures all established rules/regulations are followed throughout entire event by staff and players - may assist with registration of event

- Ensures winners are calculated correctly

- Responsible for working with Marketing to establish customer loyalty by creating Poker Room promotions and tournaments

- Works closely with Vice President/Director to implement and oversee overall strategies for customer service, comping, games layout and mix, revenue growth, and expense management in order to maximize profitability

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

- Must be 21 years of age

- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or minimum of five years of experience in a comparable Poker Operations leadership position; or equivalent combination of education and experience

- Excellent skills in both written and oral communication

- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) and have knowledge of Poker operating systems

- Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner

- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

- Must have extensive knowledge of all Poker Operations

- Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends, as business needs dictate
