Policy Analyst (Hybrid)

They can send you a link to apply directly so they can receive credit! **Job Posting End Date: February 19,2025** _The Policy Analyst will report to the Public Policy Manager to support ONE Gas’ legislative and policymaking efforts. The analyst will directly participate in the policymaking process at the federal, state and local levels and gain invaluable knowledge of the utility sector. Specifically, the analyst will assist in federal comment writing, legislative tracking, and develop policy briefs and one-pagers for engagement with key policymakers. The analyst will support the Public Policy Manager in executing the company-wide building energy code strategy to bolster fuel choice throughout ONE Gas’ service territories. This will entail coordination with the Public Advocacy Team members at the state and local levels, participating in key stakeholder meetings alongside the Public Policy Manager, and providing research on building energy codes and standards developments._ **What You Will Do** Conduct policy research, analysis, and create reports to support the Public Advocacy team. Monitor federal codes and policies which may affect ONE Gas, and helps execute building code strategy. Help implement the building code strategy and the development of 2027 energy code; monitor local code adoptions and provide research assistance. Review Department of Energy (DOE) announcements (Funding, IRA updates, etc.) and monitor federal register to determine which policies warrant a response. Participate in federal agency and congressional committee hearings/webinars and summarize key information. Collaborate with the government relations managers and other public advocacy team members to summarize key takeaways or action items for review by company subject matter experts. Help with federal comment development through research and analysis. Help develop content for policy briefs, one-pagers and other public advocacy materials for internal and external use, including leave-behinds for congressional office visits/meetings. Collaborate with AGA to track policy priorities and help facilitate appropriate OGS engagement. Support developing relationships with key federal agencies. Monitor and maintain record of corporate policy responses. Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job. Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned. **What You Will Need** Preferred bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred. Work and think both critically and strategically At least 2+ years of experience in government relations/public policy role related to energy sector or relevant industry Experience reviewing and summarizing federal rulemakings and understanding of the federal rulemaking process Experience interacting and communicating effectively. Knowledge of political process at national level. Proficiency in Microsoft Experience monitoring and assessing proposed and pending legislation and developing effective strategies.
