Summary Office of Professional Responsibility- Arlington, VA The selectee of this position serves as a Policy Development Specialist. You will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing USMS policy directives. Responsibilities As a Policy Development Specialist at the GS-0301- 13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Developing the guidelines and procedures for establishing USMS policies. Providing policy development and implementation advice, guidance, and assistance to USMS management and employees. Ensuring that the USMS policies are current, updated, reviewed, and approved. Reviewing and monitoring the effectiveness of existing USMS policy directives and managing the archival system of superseded USMS policy directives. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level). Qualifications GS-13 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted). You may qualify at the GS-0301-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year (12 months) of (full-time) specialized experience equivalent to or at the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to:1) Provide advice and guidance to management and employees on various agency policies; 2) Develop written materials regarding policy options and considerations for agency programs; 3) Analyze agency policy, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and memoranda to recommend appropriate course of action; 4) Perform research on comprehensive policy materials, directives, laws, and regulations in order to evaluate, develop and/or revise policies; and 5) Facilitate and coordinate the policy development and approval process.
