Policy Management Systems Analyst

We are an equal opportunity employer including veterans and people with disabilities. **A Brief Overview** Policy Management Systems Analyst is responsible for leading, implementing, executing, and evaluating the organizational policy management program, as well as participating in the coordination of continuous accreditation and regulatory preparedness. **Essential Functions** Policy Management Program + Constructing the program’s foundational principles in accordance with the organization’s overall governance, risk and compliance strategies + Overseeing the policy approval governance + Coordinating the policy development process + Mentoring policy owners and giving guidance on document development + Chairing and/or facilitating policy steering committee(s) + Interacting with regulators and other stakeholders + Conducting quality assessments of draft and active documents (i.e. proper template, language usage, etc.) + Evaluating program effectiveness through measured policy management system metrics (e.g. overdue documents, approval turnaround times, document duplications, etc.). Serves as the Document Management Meta Policy Owner and is accountable for: + Maintaining and administering the Meta Policy + Providing procedures and supporting tools (e.g., templates, style guide, quick reference guides, notifications) to foster Meta Policy compliance and support policy inventory management + Reviewing each policy proposal for adherence to the Meta Policy and governance principles, and to ensure referential integrity, before it is submitted for final approval + Providing guidance to executive sponsors, policy owners, legal advisors and other stakeholders through the drafting, review and approval process + Managing the company’s policy inventory and policy intranet website (if any); collaborates with policy management system site admins to ensure proper use and training of policy management system (i.e. PolicyStat) Accreditation & Regulatory + Assures the hospital’s regulatory continued readiness through facilitation of multidisciplinary teams and work groups. + Serves as consultant to hospital leadership and staff on standards interpretation and policy development to ensure regulatory compliance. + Coordinates, leads, and conducts unit tracers to ensure standards compliance. + Perform periodic assessments of Hospital Departments’ adherence to regulatory standards through the use of an electronic tracking management system. Oversees completion of the Focused Standards Assessment. + Coordinates external consultative assessment of regulatory compliance when requested by hospital leadership. + Coordinates proactive risk assessment utilizing failure mode and effects analysis methodology for at least one high risk process annually **Education Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Required and + Master's Degree in Public Policy, Public Administration or Nursing Preferred **Experience Qualifications** + Minimum three years’ experience in healthcare-related performance/process improvement or project management Required and + Minimum three years’ clinical experience required if position is filled by a nurse Required **Skills and Abilities** Strong clinical knowledge and background The policy management system analyst should be an effective leader and be able to take responsibility of key organizational issues as evidenced by: + Good judgment and ability to make decisions in a timely manner + Ability to set timelines and meet deadlines + Stellar problem-solving skills and ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis + Demonstrated supervisory skills and be able to lead and guide a team of workers toward realizing the organization’s goals + Good presentation skills + Strong planning and organizational skills + Superior writing skills + Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word formatting and graphics, PowerPoint and Excel spreadsheet programming, all of which may be necessary for the creation of business documents and the handling of policy information. + Ability to set priorities and identify any areas that require further research + Ability to multitask and work without supervision + Ability to create business documents **Licenses and Certifications** + OCEG Policy Management Professional Certification within 1-1/2 Yrs Required and + RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Current and valid Nebraska RN license/RN Compact license required, if position is filled by a nurse Required and + Certified Pediatric Nurse certification preferred, if position is filled by a nurse Preferred and + BCLS - Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association is required, if position is filled by a nurse Required Children’s is the very best for kids and the very best for your career!
