In collaboration with children’s hospitals and health systems across the nation, our teams work to advance child health through driving innovation in the quality, cost, and delivery of care. CHA represents more than 200 members as the unified voice of children’s hospitals, setting the standard for the highest quality pediatric care. Our Public Affairs team is growing! The Policy Manager will report to the Director of Policy and work a hybrid schedule from our DC Metro Center office. This individual will play a vital role in managing health policy analysis for CHA’s advocacy work by serving as a trusted advisor and thought leader, maintaining subject matter expertise on assigned issues and developing strategies to advance organizational priorities. The Policy Manager will work collaboratively with other staff members to represent CHA’s priorities and perspectives with external entities in coalitions and other settings.
What You’ll Do
+ Lead efforts to influence federal policies and programs in assigned issue areas with HHS and other relevant federal agencies to support children’s health and children’s hospitals.
+ Develop proactive advocacy strategies to advance CHA regulatory priorities on assigned issues, by monitoring, analyzing and responding to regulatory guidance, drafting comments that incorporates children’s hospitals’ feedback/data and internal CHA expertise while outlining relevant policy alternatives.
+ Work in collaboration with the CHA federal affairs team by serving as a policy advisor, providing significant policy support to contribute to legislative advocacy.
+ Develop, build, and maintain working partnerships with staff within HHS, other federal agencies, and other experts in the field on priority policy issues.
+ Work with CHA communications team to increase visibility of assigned policy issues for children’s hospitals.
+ Provide technical assistance and policy analysis support directly to children’s hospitals on assigned issues.
Required Experience:
What You’ll Bring to CHA
+ Bachelor’s degree in health policy, public policy, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
+ Minimum of five years professional experience in health care policy-related field.
+ Demonstrated expertise in health policy issues, preferably those that affect children and children’s hospitals.
+ Ability to effectively communicate with senior health policy professionals in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally.
+ Ability to think strategically about proactive ways to advance CHA priorities with the administration.
+ Demonstrated time and project management skills, including the ability to meet multiple and potentially changing deadlines and priorities by maintaining a high level of organization.

More About CHA
This pay range shown is a guideline. Min: $88,000 Max: $180,000. Compensation is based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.?
