Job Description:
This position ensures polishing equipment is polishing slabs to expected finish and gloss specifications, while monitoring quality results and communicating any inefficiencies with the Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain the polishers and the cutting machines
Ensure that slabs are polished to meet finish and quality specifications
Maintain proper documentation on production, abrasive usage and machine settings
Ensure that slab defects caused by polishing or calibration are corrected immediately
Keep a constant line of communication open with the Quality Control Inspectors
Communicate job problems and concerns with team members and supervisors
Participate in weekly and daily line cleaning operations as required
Understand the purpose, operation and function of the polishers, bisellos and clear water rinse
Complete change overs and abrasive changes
Track the belt and know its impact on quality
Understand water flow, PPM range, and the importance of quality water in the process
Know and understand all quality defects
Understand the operation of drying booth, exit conveyors and Quality Control station
Keep work area clean and orderly
Perform job duties safely as outlined in the Polish Line Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Additional duties as assigned by management
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to become certified in forklift and overhead crane operation
Ability to read and write in English to complete required documentation

Industrial work experience
Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Push/pull 100 lbs.
Stand on feet for long periods of time during a shift for up to 12 hours, with intermittent breaks
Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by Cambria
Participate in daily stretch and flex exercises
Occasionally work in wet and/or humid conditions
Work in a non-climate controlled environment
Bend over multiple times throughout shift
Task Based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
Steel toed boots
Hearing Protection
Safety glasses
Cut-proof gloves
Respirator
Latex gloves
Cambria’s starting hourly range for this position is $16.50-$18.50. Hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education and/or training
