The Political Programs Manager will join Amazon’s Political Programs team focused on developing and executing high-visibility activities with policymakers and key stakeholders. The Manager will propose, prepare for, and execute programmatic engagements primarily occurring in Western North America that allow the Public Policy team to host government officials, community organizations, or equivalent participants. This role requires an ability to identify opportunities that align business priorities with public policy goals and implement the relevant engagements by developing strategic content, overseeing logistics, and preparing materials, such as briefing documents and talking points.
The position requires a proven self-starter who can drive team objectives by anticipating needs, thinking critically and creatively, and working collaboratively. To cultivate effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, the Manager will influence others with strong interpersonal skills, judgement, and political acumen. An ideal candidate has an understanding of government relations, external advocacy, and communications tactics. A high level of discretion and professionalism is important. An ability and desire to travel is required.
This position will be based in Seattle, Washington.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- 5+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- 5+ years of professional experience in strategizing, planning, executing policy-related events with government officials and agencies, community organizations, companies, trade associations, or equivalent organizations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment
- Experience leading process improvements
- Strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact with senior professionals, including policymakers and senior executives

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
