About This Position:
Full Time, Night Shift Bloomington Sleep LabPolysomnographic Technologist performs basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies and may provide supervision of other staff. Prepares patient equipment for testing, interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain pre and post testing procedures. Performs and documents testing per lab protocols. Monitors patient throughout testing and intervenes as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues. Assists with scoring sleep studies and generating reports. Prepares, calibrates, repairs and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs/replacements. Maintain credentials as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BPRT). Certifications obtained through the American Board of Sleep Medicine will be honored through their certification date or until credentials through the BPRT are obtained.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED is required. Associate's Degree is preferred. Requires 1-3 years of experience. Registered Respiratory Therapist through the NBRC or Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. Must obtain certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or certification as a Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) within 2 years of date of hire. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
