Job Title: Technician / Leak Detection Specialist Pay Range: $25 - $28+ per hour, depending on experience Industry: Leak detection, Plumbing, Pools - Residential, Commercial, Industrial Location: Corporate Office: Freehold, NJ – this position serves Central and North Jersey counties Job Overview: American Leak Detection is the preeminent provider of leak detection services in the United States, specializing in the identification and repair of concealed plumbing leaks within residential and commercial properties, as well as gas piping, irrigation systems, and swimming pools. Unlike traditional plumbing companies, our expertise lies in employing non-intrusive and non-destructive methods to locate these leaks. This unique approach presents both challenges and rewards, making our work highly impactful. As a Technician, you will be responsible for performing critical leak detection and repair services. Highly skilled technicians possess the ability to analyze complex situations, formulate appropriate questions, and adhere to a systematic approach. They utilize advanced electronic equipment to identify leaks in underground piping, swimming pools, and sewer systems, among other applications. This is a career, not just a job, with training starting at $20+/hour (depending on experience) and opportunities to grow into six-figure earnings without excessive overtime. Key Responsibilities Leak Detection & Repair: • Conduct electronic leak detection for pools, spas, plumbing & fire-suppression systems, and sewer lines. • Perform minor repairs, such as pool patches and epoxy sealing. • Create job scope to prepare repair estimates. Sales & Customer Interaction: • Ensure accurate reporting and communication with clients. • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to safety protocols. • Explain findings to customers, offering professional solutions to resolve leaks. • Sell repair services and secure customer approval for additional work. • Earn commissions for successful upsells and customer referrals. Administrative Duties: • Complete service reports with detailed findings and recommendations. • Process payments and update client records in company systems. • Maintain proper inventory of parts and equipment. Team Collaboration: • Communicate with management and colleagues to ensure job readiness. • Assist in training new technicians and supporting overall operations. Qualifications Must-Have Skills: • Ability to swim and work in wet environments (wet suits and gear provided). • Occasionally lift up to 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces. • Mechanically inclined with experience using power tools. • Experience in a related field is preferred, but we provide extensive paid training. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good hearing a must along with strong attention to detail. • Basic understanding of plumbing systems, including PVC, copper, and PEX. • Clean driving record and ability to pass a drug and background check. Preferred Experience: • Background in plumbing, pool maintenance, or leak detection. • Knowledge of pool balancing, seasonal closures, or advanced repair techniques. • Comfort with technology and computer navigation. • Licensed plumbers are highly encouraged to apply (premium pay available).
