Pool & Sauna Haus Facility Manager - Giants Ridge

Job Summary:

The Pool & Sauna Haus Facility Manager is responsible for managing the overall operation of the pool and sauna facility. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient management of the facility operations, programs, supervision of the facility staff, ensuring the facility is safe, clean and appealing to guests. This position works in collaboration with other department managers with shared responsibilities at the facility.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Plan, develop and direct daily operations of the facility.Schedule, supervise and participate in the operational duties specific to the facility.Recruit, supervise train, schedule, discipline, review and direct the facility staff.Enforce safety and health standards.Registers guests at the pool, collects payment from guests and makes sure proper waivers are signed.Supervise and monitor pool area users, maintaining order and safety; enforce policies, rules and regulations.Follow proper emergency procedures when needed; administer first aid, as needed.Complete injury or other reports as directed by manager.  Interact with guests in a professional, courteous, friendly and helpful manner.Coordinate facility usage for private events in collaboration with other department managers.Assist and follow through with resolution of guest complaints, concerns and suggestions.Be familiar with all unit services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guests’ questions accurately. Maintain a positive and active role at the pool, even with working under potentially stressful conditions, including adverse weather, or working with difficult or injured guests. Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to supervisor.Perform other duties as directed.

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent required.Two plus years supervisory experiencePassionate about guest service and the hospitality/recreation industry.Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people.Proficient in Microsoft applications and POS software.Cash handling and mathematical skills.Ability to work in face paced environment.Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required or ability to obtain.Current Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification required or ability to obtain.CPR/First Aid/AED Certification required or ability to obtain.Minnesota Certified Pool Operator certification or ability to obtain.Ability to work independently. 

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire.Proficient swimming abilities with ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights.Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the facility.  Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment. Ability to safely negotiate slippery/uneven walking surfaces.Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently and up to 250+ lbs. with assistance occasionally.Ability to frequently stand; walk; sit; stoop; kneel; or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.Withstanding temperature and humidity extremes in indoor/outdoor environments. Reading and writing work-related documents in English.Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand and hear the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.

This is a full-time, year-round position with a salary of $58,000 - $65,000 based on experience. 

What We’re Looking For:

Previous supervisory experience (2+ years preferred) in recreation, hospitality or facility management.  Passion for guest service, wellness and recreation.  Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR/First Aid/AED Certification, and Minnesota Certified Pool Operator Certification (or ability to obtain).Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Point-of-Sale software.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
