PORGERA | ENGINEER, SENIOR - CIVIL & STRUCTURAL

New Porgera Limited (NPL) is seeking to recruit a qualified engineer with a background experience in civil and structural engineering who can proactively support and lead the design engineering projects on site. This role exists within the Capital and Projects Department. The successful candidate will report to The Superintendent - Engineering Projects.
The ideal candidate must have:
A bachelor-degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering with strong and extensive technical/engineering design background in concrete and steel structures Role is approximately 80% structural and 20% civil work Previous Design experience is essential. Candidates with no design experience shall not be considered A minimum of 8 years of Structural design experience Must have IEPNG registration ( or eligible) Must have detailed knowledge of Australian structural and civil standards Experience in structural condition assessment and remediation Experience in crane assessment/ design desirable Experience in successfully managing multiple projects concurrently Proficient in structural engineering software, such as Spacegass, STAADPro Experience in software like AutoCAD would be beneficial Experience in Engineering Project Management and process flows Good knowledge in bulk earthwork/civil engineering and design is desirableJob Responsibilities:
Prepare technical documents, including specifications and drawings Provide detailed structural and civil calculations Modeling of structures using space gas software Provide package engineering and procurement support Provide engineering input to design deliverables (documents and drawings) Provide engineering reviews & checks of design deliverables Able to produce technical drawings using AutoCAD software Manage external engineering companies/consultants during engineering design stage of a large scale projects Provision of SOW for Engineering Packages Development of ITP’s for structural and civil works Development of standards and specifications Provide technical support in the preparation and execution phase of all projects Effectively communicate with contractors and other parties involved in any projects Updating and maintaining project administration folders and upholding document control procedures Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation plans Manage and mentor junior engineer(s) reporting to him/her Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health rules and proceduresMobilization Requirement
This position is open to PNG Citizens Only Rotation 21 days on and 14 days off Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening Must Have an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 month)Applications close on the Monday 3rd of February 2025
