About the opportunity
As we move toward full mine production, We are seeking a result-driven Superintendent -Human Resources (HR) with a passion for driving organizational excellence that will align the HR strategies with the business objectives. The Superintendent will play a critical role in leading and managing HR functions, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and fostering a high-performance culture. This role oversees employee remuneration and benefits, workforce planning, employee relations, talent management, and HR compliance to support the operational needs of New Porgera Limited.
This position requires a strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of HR best practices.
As an HR Superintendent, you will partner with business leaders to understand and support their strategic goals and objectives, providing HR expertise in areas such as workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development and employee relations.
You will drive and implement HR initiatives that improve performance, engagement and retention. Serve as a trusted advisor to the HR Manger and employees, you will develop, update and communicate HR policies, procedures and best practices across the site. Within the Human Resource and Employee Development Department, you will provide professional advice to the other sections on matters related to best HR practices, improve internal controls and processes and lead employee engagements.
About you
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field with relevant demonstrable experience in a senior HR leadership role, with a breadth of generalist knowledge across all HR matters.
Experience of restructuring, driving and implementing structural change, systems improvement plans and ensuring personal accountability and ownership will be key to your success. People leadership and successfully implementing systems improvement and ensuring outcomes are achieved to agreed KPI’s will be key, with significant opportunity to improved personal performance, best practise and accountabilities.
You must demonstrate strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations and best practices related to Employee Relations, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Experienced with HRIS systems and HR analytics, strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment are essential.
