The New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for Trainer – Training Underground in the Underground Mining department
About the role
Reporting to the supervisor – Training underground, the incumbent will join a dynamic team of trainers and assessors responsible for training and assessment for all Underground Workforce.
The successful candidate will be required to carry out training work in a safe and efficient manner, performing the following duties and key responsibilities as required.
Assisting new employees in the application of the correct work procedures and practices Provide training and coaching to all team members, with specific attention to underground employees as part of their development plan Ensure all personnel are adequately inducted in underground work area and are aware of all workplace rules and procedures Carry out Competency Base Training on the job and ensure quality training is delivered Work in a manner that will not endanger self or any other person Identifying the risks in their work area and using the correct controls Through the use of procedures to get the job done, ensure that improvements to the procedures are captured and changes are made to controlled document Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with the PJV Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health and safety rules and procedure
About you
The ideal candidate must have
A Grade ten (10) or above level of education PNG Class 3 Driving license and be able to drive manual Light Vehicle UG Truck Ticket, Services Crew + 1 other production skill PNG Cert 1 & 2 training and Assessment and /or have the ability to acquire one. Minimum of 3 or more years’ experiences in Underground Mining Equipment’s with sound knowledge in both Productions ( Truck Skills) and Services ( Service Crew Skills) On The Job Trainer experience for underground operations A good performance record and strong safety focus An excellent time management skills and must be production oriented The ability and willingness to do what is expected to ensure the daily plan is followed and projects are completed on time Must be able to cooperate and work with all crews to ensure all procedures and safety systems are followed and adhered too A good Computer Literacy skills and be able to complete daily record keeping to a high level of accuracy Ability to communicate well, with good written and spoken English Stable work history and ability to work under minimum supervision
