Job DescriptionThe Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) will be responsible to manage and co-ordinate the activities of the Security function for UPSTREAM TECHNOLOGY Inports & Paarden Eiland Complex to ensure maximum protection of product, people, assets, information and reputation at the lowest cost and in accordance with the Upstream Technology’s Security and organizational objectives.
This role reports into the Senior Manager Security. Risk & Facilities
Your role responsibilities as a PFSO include:
The PFSO will fulfil the duties and responsibilities imposed by Chapter X 1-2 of the International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea, 1974 and the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) Part A par 17Ensuring the development and maintenance of the port facility security plan;Implementing and exercising the port facility security planSecurity & Safety Risk ManagementManaging security contracts to maximize operational financial performance and to ensure that the supplier comply with the contract and meet the goals of the contract.Preliminary Security InvestigationsMaintaining and optimization security systems and technologyAssist in compiling the security budget by providing information based on operational security and organizational requirements.Capture, centralize and manage information on CiMMs to do analysis, identify trends and risks.Sustain security effectiveness through the development and implementation of SOP’s and Group Security Standards.Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders resulting in improved business planning and performance.QualificationsFormal qualifications:
Minimum of National Diploma in Security Risk Management or Diploma in Criminology or NQF 6 equivalent.Registered in accordance with the Private Security Industry Regulation Act, 56 of 2001, A Grade AdvantageousQualified Company Security Officer (CSO), Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) and Ship Security Officer (SSO) AdvantageousMinimum five (5) years’ security management experience working in a maritime / mining / construction / security environment.Proven experience of Security Risk Management.Proven security investigations background.Proven experience of contract management and project management.Proven experience of report writing and analysis.Proven knowledge of Security Technical Systems.Knowledge of mining and metallurgical diamond recovery processes would be an advantageClosing Date: 07 February 2025
