What challenge will you take on?
We are currently looking for a Port & Terminal Planner to reinforce our globally organised Port Centre of Expertise. You will be able to apply your experience and extensive knowledge of port operations in both local and international terminal expansions and upgrades. As a Port & Terminal Planner you will be responsible for:
Developing the master plans for efficient port operations. Analyzing port capacity and recommending improvements. Coordinating with stakeholders to optimize port workflow. Implementing best practices for cargo handling and storage. Monitoring vessel schedules and berthing arrangements. Conducting risk assessments for port activities. Managing resources effectively to meet operational goals. Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Providing input for budget planning and cost control. Having an understanding of software tools for simulation and planning purposes.Does your profile match?
You have full professional working proficiency in both Dutch and English, knowledge of the French language is a plus. You have a master’s degree in science complemented by at least 5 years of relevant port or terminal experience. You have a proven track record in port planning and operations, and/or in leading & delivering master plan studies for port infrastructure. Other relevant experience in the port and maritime infrastructure sector (e.g. design, construction, smart port related automation) would be advantageous. Your experience demonstrates your ability to carry out assignments effectively, ensuring technically sound, timely and cost-effective results. You exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You are recognised for your excellent communication and teamwork abilities, enabling you to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and varied disciplines. Thanks to your strong capability to build client relationships and provide expert advice, you can rely on a broader maritime network. Experience or ambitions in sales activities are well appreciated. You have knowledge of international shipping practices and regulations. Familiarity with port management software is an asset. You are open to working in an international context and are willing to travel abroad for short visits (fly in – fly out).If you recognize similarities with your knowledge and experience, don't hesitate to let us know.
