Portable Solar Light Technician Lead
Overview Leads a small team to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on solar panels and associated hardware under the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) program. Performs other technical and administrative duties associated with operating and maintaining a power facility. Exhibits superior workmanship and focuses on a quality product. Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure tasks are accomplished safely. Verifies actual hours worked to reduce excessive manpower expenditure. Completes tasks in accordance with local Environmental, Safety & Health directives. Addresses customer concerns in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. Uses provided Computer Maintenance Management System (Maximo) to correctly capture data related to maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance inspections, and emergency/urgent customer requests. Responsibilities Performs corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations on Solar Panels and associated equipment Assembles, installs, or maintains portable solar panel light sets in compliance with site assessment, schematics and or manufacturer recommendations. Performs minor electrical work such as current checks, voltage checks and overall performance and other technical and administrative duties associated with operating and maintaining a power facility Ensures work is performed in accordance with Environmental and Safety requirements Performs work independently and/or in work crews Inspects facilities and equipment using solar panels to ensure the systems were installed per code Responsible for the timely and efficient accomplishment of inspections and repairs Reports maintenance and repair items beyond the scope of work to the work order desk Ensures adequate supplies and equipment are on hand to accomplish inspections and repairs Performs other duties as required Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. High school diploma or equivalent required Must possess a driver’s license from country of origin to obtain a Qatar driver’s license Required to maintain current level of professional knowledge Proven experience with a multitude of electrical/construction projects Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals (single craft journeyman skills) such as electrical measurements, control circuits, and solid state theory application. Advanced knowledge of operational characteristics of equipment and associated control devices installed on solar equipment. Possess a two (2) year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications. Five (5) or more years of experience in a power plant or Five (5) or more years of experience in PV Solar O&M/EPC Skills: Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all site individuals Is a strong team player and willing to assist others when necessary and appropriate Maturity, professionalism and excellent English communication skills, both verbally and in writing High energy, developed interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic Detail-oriented with an ability to synthesize complex analysis and approach new challenges Demonstrated proficiency in research, highly technical equipment and engineering. Excellent hands on abilities with strong technical skills Ability to prioritize responsibilities to handle a demanding workload Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications High-level organizational and planning skills, to manage workflow efficiently and accurately Ability to read, analyze and interpret reports and documents Must have an excellent understanding of safety directives and polices regarding the operation of equipment Ability to operate personal computer with technical proficiency of standard business software Working Environment: Work is generally conducted on-site at maintenance and project locations in out-of-doors areas with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work may require lifting up to 50 lbs., stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations and published company work rules. Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, extended sitting or standing, or other physical efforts that are normally required.
