GENERAL PURPOSE
You will play a strategic role in creating new product solutions in creating for Lifestyle, Workplace, and Seating needs, by influencing the direction of the MillerKnoll global portfolio, including alliances and local products. This will be achieved through a partnership with MillerKnoll (Mexico, Brazil & LAC Dealers) designers and sellers, facilitating dynamic conversations aimed at challenging preconceptions and coaching toward the best value solutions for each client. Additionally, you will inspire internal and external audiences with new ways of thinking through diverse content formats (digital, video, etc.) as well as focus groups and engaging discussions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Applies creative problem-solving skills to identify opportunities and differentiate the products from those within the existing MillerKnoll global portfolio, including alliances and local products.
To fill the product gap, engage actively in seeking out new product alliances to explore opportunities for enhancing the MillerKnoll global portfolio and addressing unmet needs in the Mexico, Brazil, LAC & Vertical markets.
Assists in developing and reviewing specification information and provides application guidance for targeted RFPs and projects.
Conducts application studies and needs assessment with sales and design teams to understand needs in the market, creates application POV, and articulates them visually through application design.
Engages in the design and development process of new local products, mainly to ensure the application's success.
Master's understanding of MillerKnoll product specification and application planning guidelines.
Completes continued education on MillerKnoll’s Global portfolio, including alliances and local products.
Coach and mentor MillerKnoll dealer designers, equips them with knowledge and confidence in their specifications, and keep a pulse on what is happening in the field.
Conceptualizes differentiating design applications for our Mexico, Brazil, LAC & Vertical markets.
Articulates applications within CET, Sketchup, CAD Pack, and third-party design tools as applicable to support various product application needs.
Drives optimal client value-add and value-engineered solutions.
Drives the sales of the existing portfolio by developing tools to help field-based sales and design teams navigate the portfolio at a variety of price points and effectively specify complex products.
Facilitates increased connectivity and understanding between sales and design through exceptional communication skills, for example, “The Product Guidance Toolset", but with local prices and applications.
Fields calls/requests from internal and external audiences for Application guidance/support.
Assist insights and strategies on creating optimal design specifications in competitive bid situations.
Performs competitor design/application research to drive optimal value-added solutions.
Represents and advocates for MillerKnoll products as the optimal solution with all of our sales and design teams.
Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in in interior/architectural/facility design from an accredited program, or relevant academic discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in interior design, space planning, or facility management
Minimum 8 years of experience with commercial furniture systems; including MillerKnoll product
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proficient with AutoCAD, furniture specification, SketchUp, CET and Adobe InDesign. Experience with Adobe Illustrator is preferred.
Ability to work cross-functionally with a broad set of teams to identify needs and establish shared goals.
Strong business and financial acumen. Ability to make connections between business metrics and team initiatives.
Ability to work globally and navigate regional differences.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, work environment and at all levels of the organization.
Experience managing projects, including coordinating deadlines, design responsibilities, and final deliverables.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including professional presentation and facilitation skills.
Exhibits strong organization and problem-solving skills.
Exhibit’s ability to work cooperatively both in a team environment and independently to develop enriched solutions.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and successfully coordinate efforts of internal/external resources.
Applied knowledge of the contract furniture industry, design industry and consumer trends.
Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, and tools currently used in the MK office environment.
Demonstrated ability to develop creative product solutions for design applications.
Ability to lead a meeting to help determine project needs and identify action items.
General understanding of furniture construction and experience coordinating custom applications preferred.
