Company Overview

Blackstone Europe Fund Management S.à r.l. (“BEFM”) is a private limited liability company (société à responsibilité limitée) notably subject to the Law of 10 August 1915 on commercial companies, as amended from time to time and to the AIFM Law. BEFM is authorized by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (“CSSF”) as (i) a management company under Article 101(2) (Chapter 15) of the Law of 17 December 2010 on undertakings for collective investment, as amended (the UCI Law) and (ii) an alternative investment fund manager in accordance with the Law of 12 July 2013 on alternative investment fund managers, as amended (the AIFM Law).

BEFM manages UCITS and alternative investment funds (AIFs) in a variety of asset classes including private equity, real estate, credit and hedge fund solutions. BEFM is also authorized to manage separately managed accounts (SMAs) with a combination of these asset classes.

Job Description

A senior member of the Portfolio Management Oversight (“PMO”) team, playing an important role in continuing to build and develop the function to genuine “Best in Class” standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with various stakeholders in the US and EMEA regions.  The primary focus will be on overseeing portfolio managers and Information and Communication & Technology (“ICT”) providers to ensure regulatory expectations are met while maintaining lean and sustainable processes.

This position will report to the Conducting Officer in charge of Portfolio Management Oversight and ICT, with a responsibility to provide support in wide-ranging tasks.

Responsibilities

Portfolio Management Oversight

Conduct initial and periodic due diligence reviews of portfolio management delegates (“Delegates”) in accordance with BEFM’s risk-based approach and PMO Procedure ensuring a complete and timely processPerform ongoing monitoring of the Delegates in accordance with applicable regulations, internally developed KPIs, and PMO Procedure, and escalate any findings or highlights to senior managementPrepare reports and present results of PMO activities to relevant committees and boardsBuild and maintain strong relationships with the DelegatesAct as a point of contact for PMO matters for US and EMEA stakeholders and other team membersLiaise with external counsel to obtain legal advice when necessaryRepresent the team in meetings with all Blackstone’s Business UnitsParticipate in creating lean and efficient processes while ensuring regulatory complianceEnsure that all policies, procedures, and processes encompass latest regulatory requirements

ICT Oversight / Digital Operational Resilience

Maintain ICT governance framework by updating BEFM's ICT Policy and other key documents that govern BEFM’s digital operational resilienceDevelop and perform oversight of BEFM's ICT outsourcing arrangements in accordance with BEFM’s risk-based approach and the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), leveraging existing process at the Group levelEnsure maintenance of the Register of Information required under DORA

New Products Onboarding

Coordinate onboarding of new funds liaising with internal and external stakeholdersReview fund documentation, where relevant, and manage new business approval processAdminister management information data for purpose of reporting to stakeholders

Miscellaneous

Participate in PMO, BEFM and Group level projects, including technology solutionsSupport the Conducting Officer during internal audits, annual external audits, and ad hoc tasksContinuously seek to improve processes and drive innovationCoach, train, and supervise junior team members

Qualifications & Skills

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team, are highly motivated, with a sound judgment, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.

Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related disciplineAt least 6 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, such as UCITS Management Company, AIFM, or advisory role. Prior experience in a Big 4 firm is a plusFluent in English, both written and oralHighly organized with great attention to detail and strong time management skillsDemonstrates ownership and accountability, manages work independently and knows when to escalate mattersGood knowledge of the local/EU regulatory requirements related to UCITS and AIFs, domiciled in Luxembourg and/or IrelandExposure to CSSF Circular 22/808 and DORAProficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint is essential; knowledge of IT languages like VBA and SQL is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to effectively connect and collaborate with international teams, and thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
