Our Impact

The Treasury group within the Investments & Capital Markets division is responsible for managing the corporation’s debt funding programs and liquidity risk. This is done by issuing short and long-term debt securities to finance the purchase of mortgage and non-mortgage assets, to meet specific asset and liability management requirements, and to meet the company’s current and expected future daily cash needs. We are seeking a motivated individual to join them in the role of Treasury Professional. This individual would be responsible for analytics and trade execution of various debt securities, focusing primarily on discount note and floating rate note instruments. They would also be responsible for managing relationships with major external counterparties, perform complex research involving various investment scenarios, work under limited direction and independently determine and develop approach to solutions, work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends and competitor behavior. They would work under limited direction and independently determine and develop approach to solutions. Work is evaluated upon completion for adequacy and consistency in satisfying objectives. The successful candidate would provide resolutions to an extensive range of complicated problems. These solutions would be innovative, thorough, and practical. Often must lead a collaborative effort among members of a project team. They would interact with senior Liquidity and/or ALM personnel on significant technical matters frequently requiring coordination across organizational lines.

ResponsibilitiesPerform trade execution and analysis of various fixed income instruments, including: Callable and non-Callable Short and Long-Term Notes, Fixed, Floating, interest rate derivatives, and all associated activity related to the active management of the firm’s liability portfolios.Interpret information and data from multiple internal and external sources and provide on demand quantitative analyses to facilitate funding, hedging, or liquidity strategies.Work closely with various internal departments: Finance, Operations, Wireroom, Legal, Accounting, Market & Liquidity Oversight, Compliance, Audit, etc.Represent Freddie Mac to external counterparties (dealers, investors, and regulator) and report market information and insight to other members of the Investment & Capital Markets division.Diligently and accurately analyze and produce various reports and reporting systems on a daily basis to construct comprehensive business solutions.

QualificationsMinimum 2 years of functional and industry experience in fixed income marketAdvanced degree in finance, statistics or other related field is preferred. CFA preferredDeep understanding of the fixed income market and securities, especially mortgage and interest rate marketsPractical interest rate risk management experienceAbility to understand user assumptions in a modelAbility to work effectively under tight deliverable timelinesAbility to participate in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environmentStrong at critical thinking and problem-solvingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsTeam player that embraces the diverse and inclusive culture of Freddie Mac

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $76,000 - $114,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
