Portfolio Manager, Payroll Transformation Portfolio Management

Amazon seeks a Payroll Portfolio Manager to join our expanding Finance Operations (FinOps) Payroll Transformation (PT) team. FinOps is looking for a driven Portfolio Manager to drive the prioritization, assessment, customer and partner engagements to manage Payroll Transformations portfolio. The role will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that requests are triaged through a single intake and portfolio management process, keeping the process as customer focused and simple as possible whilst providing critical data points to enable prioritisation, resource planning and capacity management, and reporting. Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develop an in-depth understanding of Amazon’s payroll products, business models, payroll architecture and global operations supporting the end-to-end Payroll function and supporting processes.
• Accountable for defining, reporting, and orchestrating decision-making to deliver Payroll portfolio and priorities at global level.
• Drives the prioritization of projects that best contribute to accomplishing shared leadership goals with Payroll Operations and partner teams based on risks, business goals, benefits/returns, dependencies with other projects and programs, resource and skill availability.
• Develops and executes qualitative and quantitative techniques such as ranking models and scoring methods to make project prioritization decisions.
• Works with internal partners in performing impact assessment, identifying project dependencies and obtaining confirmation that all technology and resource dependencies are committed to aid in prioritization.
• Evaluates demands and articulates with senior leaders the impacts and requirements to meet the demands.
• Works with internal Payroll functions, Payroll Operations, and other partners to deliver opportunities and manage dependencies with other portfolios, programs and projects.
• Builds and manages governance model for all programs and projects of the portfolio. Review benefits/ROI performance, schedule performance, quality performance, and risk/issues status and recommend strategic approach/solutions.
• Create and manage contingency plan using historical data, skills available and gaps, resource capacity, and lead the organization on the right path.
• Build trust by owning stakeholder and management reporting and communications structure. Build and support critical relationships with internal and external customers and business partners.
• Be the single point of contact for Payroll functional teams, their stakeholders and partners.
• Continuously review projects to ensure they are aligned with the business objectives and benefits/returns are not negatively impacted using cost-benefit-risk analysis.
• Create and report metrics on forecast, project completions, reschedules, benefit realization and returns.
• Coordinate with other Portfolio and Program managers in the prioritization, portfolio planning, tollgate reviews, and have visibility on the end-to-end project lifecycle. Serve as Payroll portfolio interface with Payroll Operations and other partner teams.
• Develop, execute, and drive continuous improvement of Payroll’s prioritization, portfolio/program governance management mechanisms.
