Portfolio Manager I - CRE

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This CRE position’s role is to further their knowledge, experience and skills in handling all aspects of Portfolio Management and work more independently. The primary focus will be managing a small portfolio of their own as well as supporting multiple lenders with the management of their portfolios and other department related assigned functions. This will include the preparation of short term extensions, modifications, borrower contact and comprehensive financial review of both individuals and project economics and valuation, guarantor analysis, market analysis and risk rating recommendation.  The loan analyses include both CRE construction loans and CRE permanent mortgages.  This position is considered the less experienced job in the job family.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs portfolio management responsibilities including: Monitor Covenant Compliance of the CRE Portfolio. Prepare initial financial review of borrower financials. Prepares annual reviews of existing loans to assess credit quality Covenant compliance; performs property inspections. Preparation of detailed excel Group Exposure Chart. Request quotes/order appraisal and environmental reports. Prepare Short term extensions. Submit applications to underwriting for processing/approval. Prepare loan modification/covenant waiver memos. Directly responsible for working with RMs on loans assigned as PM. Work with customers to obtain financial and other documents required to maintain loans. Will Assist Multiple Lenders with the following: Preparation of Semi-annual construction reviews Detailed property descriptions and market analysis. Detailed analysis of financial statements. Project economics, income and expense analysis, tenant analysis, and property      valuations Borrower and Guarantor analysis. Assess lending risks, clearly identify offsetting mitigates and summarize recommendations. Prepare short term extensions. Prepare loan modification/covenant waiver memos. Complete special projects as directed by the CRE Portfolio Team Leader

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degrees in Finance, Accounting or Economics. 3 - 5 years related work experience in all facets of commercial real estate within financial industry, with a strong concentration in Banking. Comprehensive financial analysis experience. Comprehensive Commercial Real Estate loan analysis experience. Strong verbal and written communicative and analytical skills. Ability to manage a small commercial real estate portfolio if required. Ability to assist multiple Lenders with the management of their portfolio. Proficient with software programs (Microsoft Word and Excel), financial analysis programs Strong customer services skills.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a normal office environment.  Noise levels are usually moderate.  May include travel by automobile.

 

HAZARDS

The hazards are mainly those present in a normal office setting and those present in commuting locally by car. Occasionally may be exposed to those conditions present in public forums and meeting places.
