Our team is driving the implementation of a data driven cross-LoB portfolio steering framework across AZ Commercial that is regularly adjusted to reflect recent developments. Collaboration is key to us both in our interactions with the product owners to optimize our profitability as well as within our team. We are an international and diverse team located in Munich and Bucharest supporting each other.
The Impact You Will Have
In this role you will focus on portfolio management at various levels of the AZ Commercial underwriting operations, from portfolio to segment to client and account level. You will implement the CUO/CTO portfolio steering incl. cycle management framework for your assigned area to drive for a sustainable profitability over the cycle. To do so, you will work closely together with the lines of business management to ensure that portfolios develop into the desired direction and to track the execution progress of planned underwriting actions. This will include pricing and capacity strategies at segment level in light of latest market trends.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
• Manage and drive forward own area of responsibility, including projects on portfolio steering and analytics.
• Implement CUO/CTO portfolio steering, focusing on pricing, capacity, portfolio strategy, and target portfolio mix.
• Lead quarterly portfolio steering meetings, preparing summaries, and moderating discussions to optimize the global portfolio mix and profitability.
• Analyze portfolio performance and market trends to provide clear warning signals and strategic input for the CUO and Allianz Commercial.
• Develop and perform portfolio analytics processes, ensuring transparency, alignment, and top management reporting.
• Collaborate with CUO LoB colleagues to translate underwriting strategy into specific actions, including monitoring and optimizing pricing, volatility management, and portfolio composition.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
• Master degree (or equivalent) in finance, science or engineering, especially in fields such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistic and / or actuarial background
• Several years of insurance industry experience incl. technical UW and/or actuarial experience and spanning multiple areas
• Experience of working internationally with strong ability for cross border interaction
• Comfortable in a fast paced environment, able to consistently revise approach in response to new information
• Successful track record in handling complex matrix environments; strong project management experience
• Strong analytical, numerical and adaptive problem solving skills, using logical and methodological approach
• Willingness and ability to effectively work with various team members when gathering requirements, delivering solutions, and eliciting suggestions and feedback
• Hands-on professional data analytics skills using SQL
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications
• English: Fluent (able to negotiate)
