The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

This position is required to be near one of our listed office locations and will require a hybrid work model. 

 

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Portfolio Scrum Master to join our portfolio leadership team. In this key role, you will be responsible for overseeing the agile practices for a group of agile software development teams. Your mission is to cultivate a healthy and mature environment that is both effective and sustainable. By partnering with Product Owners (POs), Engineering Managers (EMs), and team leads, you will help foster an agile culture that drives continuous improvement and delivers high-quality results.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Agile Coaching and Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to agile teams, helping them understand and implement agile principles and practices effectively. Foster a culture of continuous improvement.Transparency Tools Utilization: Leverage tools such as PowerBI, JIRA, and JIRA Plans to provide insights into team performance and progress. Ensure that teams maintain visibility and transparency in their processes.Opportunity Identification: Actively identify areas for improvement within teams, including process enhancements, team dynamics, and overall workflow efficiency. Champion innovative solutions to enhance productivity.Impediment and Blocker Removal: Proactively identify and remove impediments that hinder team progress. Work collaboratively with teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively.Issue Escalation: Monitor team dynamics and project progress, escalating issues to leadership when necessary to ensure timely resolution and alignment with strategic goals.Collaboration with POs and EMs: Partner closely with Product Owners and Engineering Managers to create a healthy and sustainable work environment. Facilitate open communication and collaboration among stakeholders.

Qualifications Bachelor`s degree in a relevant fieldMinimum of 5 years related experienceProven experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach, preferably within a portfolio or multi-team environment.Strong understanding of agile methodologies, principles, and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills.Proficiency in using agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA, PowerBI) for tracking and reporting.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Agile Coach (ICP-ACC), or equivalent) are a plus.
