Portfolio Solutions Consultant for FMAX

The Role

The Portfolio Solutions Consultant will be a pivotal contributor to the success of the launch and adoption of our new managed account platform and will work closely with our external and internal product consulting associates in supporting intermediary driven sales. The role will also work closely with the product management organization and supporting the new FI Investment Advisor as well as other business partners.

We are looking for experienced investors who are easy to work with to help our financial advisor client build better portfolios.  We prefer candidates who were analysts at our client firms and/or analysts at asset management firms.  Familiarity with Envestnet system, UMA, SMA, FSP programs is given high preference. 

The Portfolio Solutions Consultant (aka Investment Consultant) is responsible for providing portfolio construction support to our intermediary clients (Banks, Broker/Dealers, RIAs, and Family Offices) which utilize our new Fidelity Managed Account platform (FMAX). This role will be responsible for having expertise in the investment offerings we make available, our due diligence and research capabilities, the platform technology itself and for supporting our intermediary clients in developing HNW investment proposals leveraging our managed account platform investment suite.

On demand, based on Intermediary request, FMAX Portfolio Solutions Consultant can assist Intermediaries with the development of a UMA solution within the Intermediary’s predefined asset allocation and investment solution parameters. The Intermediary is solely responsible for determining the initial and ongoing appropriateness of asset allocation and underlying investment solutions it elects to recommend to the Investor.

These services are included in the FMAX Platform fees and do not require additional contracting or fees. The Intermediary is solely responsible for determining the initial and ongoing appropriateness of any portfolio construction approach, asset allocation, investment solution choices it elects to recommend to the Investor. 

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.

CFA preferred

Familiarity with Envestnet, UMA, SMA, FSP preferred

Series 7, 63, 65/66 required or obtained within 90 days of hire

3-10 years institutional investment consulting experience

Experience with variety of asset management product delivery formats (e.g. SMAs, Model Portfolios, Mutual Funds, ETFs, etc.) preferred.

Financial intermediary channel experience preferred (RIAs, Banks, and Broker/Dealers)

You have the expertise, confidence and skill to build compelling client specific portfolio recommendations from universe of available investment products.

You are obsessed with delivering outstanding client experience to our financial intermediary client base.

You have superior presentation skills, ability to speak substantively on manager selection, due diligence, portfolio construction and deliver your impactful recommendations.

You are self-starter, independently oriented and are thrilled by prospect of working on critical initiatives (our new Investment Advisor and managed account platform) and welcome working in fast pace, client focused environment which requires a resourcefulness approach.

You are passionate about capital markets, investment management, manager research, portfolio construction, and delivering outstanding investment consulting to financial intermediaries.

You will help build out the Portfolio Solutions Consultant function for new Fidelity Managed Account Platform and will be providing critical support for new Fidelity Institutional Wealth Advisor (FIWA), an RIA supporting our intermediary clients

You will be the dedicated subject matter expert on all investment related components and offerings available on the Fidelity Managed Account Exchange (FMAX) and responsible for providing comprehensive representation of investment offerings to internal partners and our intermediary clients.

You will be coordinating with broader Fidelity Managed Account Exchange (FMAX) Distribution team to identify and engage our intermediary partners and assist them in creating and delivering impactful portfolio recommendations to their customers.

You will be supporting new intermediary oriented Fidelity Investment Wealth Advisor (FIWA) in development, implementation, and oversight of investment services provided by business partners and 3rd party due diligence provider.

Only a candidate hired in California will work from home.

The Team

The Business maintains a team of FMAX Portfolio Solutions Consultant to assist Intermediaries. These FMAX Portfolio Solutions Consultant can on demand, based on client request:(1) present at Intermediary client conferences and events regarding economic and market outlook and implications for portfolio construction, (2) engage with Intermediaries to build a suite of UMAs within the Intermediaries’ predefined asset allocation and investment solution parameters,(3) provide customized consulting to Intermediaries to design an investment portfolio based on an end investor’s objective and goal. These services are included in the FMAX Platform fees and do not require additional contracting or fees. The Intermediary is solely responsible for determining the initial and ongoing appropriateness of any portfolio construction approach, asset allocation, investment solution choices it elects to recommend to the Investor. 

The base salary range for this position is $100,000-$169,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
