Transdev U.S. employs a team of 32,000 across 400 locations while maintaining more than 17,000 vehicles.   Operates a para-transit bus or van and transports passengers with disabilities safely in accordance with Company policy and local, county, state, and federal laws. Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle in allotted time. Provides door-to-door assistance to passengers to safely travel between the vehicle and the door of home or destination.  This including escorting and assisting passengers with disabilities including pushing wheelchairs up and down ramps, assisting passengers up and down stairs, steps and curbs and inclines, assisting passengers on the vehicle and securing passengers and their mobility aids on the vehicle. Operates all various types of vehicles, as assigned, safely, in all types of weather and traffic conditions, according to schedules. Arrives and signs in on time; works hours as scheduled; wears clean, neat uniforms. Picks up and discharges passengers at scheduled locations safely; regulates heating and ventilating equipment on the bus for the comfort of passengers. Collects proper cash fares, following fare collection procedures. Reports all accidents, incidents, or unusual occurrences to dispatch office immediately; submits written reports on accidents, incidents or unusual occurrences as required. Accurately completes all reports. Follows rules and regulations of the Company and TriMet. Adheres to all regulations related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); assists passengers as needed, to enter and exit vehicle safely; correctly operates wheelchair lift with proper safety restraints as requested by the customer. Provides transit information to passengers as needed. Other duties as required.    Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required: Must be 21 years or older Must have a good driving record Experience: Must have held a US driver’s license for a minimum of 5 years  No CDL required  Skills and Knowledge Required: Good motor skills, good hearing, accurate color perception Good knowledge of the greater Portland area Ability to apply proper driving procedures Ability to learn transit routes and schedules and adapt to changes; ability to read a map Ability to read, understand, and interpret transit system operating rules, regulations and policies Ability to assist passengers with special needs Pre-Employment Requirements:  Must comply with DOT drug testing requirements and meet Company and TriMet criminal background and MVR requirements. Physical Requirements:  Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules, as needed, with service operating 24/7/365. Primarily seated in vehicle; stress caused by passengers and traffic; must be able to get in and out of the vehicle to assist passengers; frequent bending, kneeling, pulling, pushing, and stretching required when assisting passengers and performing required duties. Must be able to work in all types of weather. Must be able to drive in all types of weather.  Lifting, pulling, and pushing are among the physical requirements of performing work in this position.  Specific required limits of weight are determined by location site.   About Transdev: Cities, counties, airports, companies, and universities across the U.S. contract with Transdev to operate their transportation systems, maintain their vehicle and fleets, and deliver on mobility solutions.
