Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Port Dispatcher to join our team at Trimodal Distribution in Carson, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently dispatching drivers to various locations, including the Port of Long Beach and Port of Los Angeles, handling cashiering processes, and performing heavy data entry. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in port dispatching, customer service, and logistics, with a keen eye for accuracy and speed. This position offers an opportunity to join a fast-paced and dynamic logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispatching Drivers: Ensure drivers are dispatched in 4 minutes or less, ensuring swift and efficient operations.Cashiering: Handle the cashiering process by taking tickets from drivers and uploading them into the company system.Data Entry & Reporting: Perform heavy data entry and upload reports into Excel for tracking and reporting purposes.Client Communication: Correspond with clients frequently via email and phone, maintaining professionalism and excellent communication etiquette.Multitasking: Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including dispatching, data entry, and customer communications, with speed and accuracy.Logistics Coordination: Dispatch truckers to the Port of Long Beach, Port of Los Angeles, and four other locations, coordinating logistics to ensure timely and efficient operations.Accuracy: Ensure accurate port reports are entered into the system, following up on any discrepancies or issues.Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of recent dispatching experience in the logistics industry, specifically dispatching to port terminals.Data Entry: At least 3 years of experience with heavy data entry and 10-key proficiency.Microsoft Office: 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Word and Excel (advanced Excel skills for reporting).Customer Service: Strong customer service skills with 3+ years of experience in phone and email correspondence.Port Experience: Experience working with Port of Long Beach and Port of Los Angeles is a plus.Logistics Knowledge: Familiarity with logistics processes and port websites.Communication Skills: Excellent phone and email etiquette with the ability to multitask and handle high-volume communication.Pay and Benefits
