Recruitment/Posting Title Post-Doc Associate in Pharmacoepidemiology Department Inst-Hth,Hth Care Pol&Agng Res Salary Commensurate With Experience Posting Summary The fellow will work with Dr. Chintan Dave, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy and Epidemiology at Rutgers School of Pharmacy and School of Public Health and core member within the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science (PETS), answering high-impact questions to inform clinical decision making on the comparative safety and effectiveness of medications used for cardio-metabolic conditions.This is a two-year position that is supported by active NIH and other funding mechanisms, with the anticipated start date of after September 2023. The successful candidate will further develop research skills under the mentorship of Dr. Dave and will have opportunities to develop their own research question, lead several impactful research studies, compose and submit their own grants, write, and publish in scientific journals, and continue their own scholarly and research development with input from PETS faculty, including Dr. Brian L. Strom. The fellow is expected to participate in international conferences and publish high-quality journal papers. Opportunities are also available for teaching experiences with the School of Public Health for courses taught by PETS faculty. PETS was formed to create an interdisciplinary locus for world-class research and training in pharmacoepidemiology at Rutgers. Over the past 6 years, PETS has developed into a major research group, recruiting numerous new core, part-time, and adjunct faculty, and an experienced team of highly trained administrative and analytic staff. The current PETS core faculty have been funded by numerous R01s, K awards, and foundation awards. PETS faculty work on a variety of topics in pharmacoepidemiology and related fields, including traditional drug safety studies, comparative effectiveness research, pharmacoepidemiologic methods, clinical epidemiology, and health services research. They regularly collaborate with researchers across campus, across the US, and internationally, including colleagues from academia, industry, and government. Center faculty and trainees have access to a variety of national electronic health record and claims databases covering well over 120 million lives. PETS faculty members serve on FDA Advisory Committees, on study sections at the National Institutes of Health, committees at the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, and in various roles within clinical and research organizations, particularly ISPE, where PETS faculty serve as current President and Incoming President-Elect, among numerous other leadership roles.
