Position Summary/Description:
Post-doctoral positions funded by NIH grants, including a Delaney Collaboratory, are now available in the Archin and Margolis laboratories at the UNC -Chapel Hill HIV Cure Center to study the biology of HIV latency, characterize the peripheral and tissue reservoir and investigate novel approaches to deplete the HIV reservoir. Our laboratories are highly dynamic, diverse, and energetic, with ample career development and growth opportunities. We have been at the forefront of HIV cure research and have made significant contributions to the field (e.g., J Infect Dis. 2021 Jul 2;224(1):92-100; J Infect Dis. 2020 Nov 9;222(11):1843-1852; Nature. 2020 Feb;578(7793):160-165; J Clin Invest. 2017 Aug 1;127(8):3126-3135; Nature. 2012 Jul 25;487(7408):482-5) our candidate will have an excellent opportunity to further contribute to the HIV cure agenda while advancing their career. In addition, the UNC HIV Cure Center provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with other primary investigators within the center. Opportunities also exist to gain teaching experience with undergraduate, graduate, and clinical research fellows. This position is full-time in person. Education and Experience:
Candidates should also have strong laboratory and analytical skills as demonstrated by a strong track record of publications in well-respected journals.
Outstanding communication skills in English (both spoken and written) are essential for this position.
Attention to detail is a must.
The ability to communicate research findings clearly and work and interact within a team environment is essential.
Candidate should be able to think and operate independently.
