Post-Doc Research Associate
University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill
Vacancy ID: PDS004435
Position Summary/Description:
The Tsagaratou Lab is seeking a creative, independent, self-motivated postdoctoral scholar to lead projects focused on the epigenetic and transcriptional regulation of T cell function. We are particularly interested in elucidating the role of the Ten Eleven Translocation ( TET ) family of proteins that are involved in active DNA demethylation. We are using genetically modified mice, primary cell culture, multiparameter flow cytometry and next generation sequencing to dissect the role of TET proteins in inflammation, autoimmunity and cancer. Researchers have access to state of the art core facilities (Flow Cytometry Core, Next Generation Sequencing Core, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics). Importantly, UNC Chapel Hill offers a highly collaborative and stimulating environment that makes feasible multidisciplinary research, ensuring an outstanding postdoctoral training experience.
Education and Experience:
A strong background in cellular immunology, mouse genetics and mouse models of immune disease/cancer. Further experience in molecular biology, next generation sequencing and bioinformatic analysis will be advantageous.
