The Economics and Computation Group at Microsoft Research is seeking qualified postdoctoral researchers to join us in advancing the state-of-the-art in this interdisciplinary field. If your research background is in economics and computation, algorithmic game theory, or a related field, we would love to hear from you!
Microsoft Research offers an exhilarating and supportive environment for cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research, both theoretical and applied, with access to an extraordinary diversity of big and small data sources, an open publications policy, and close links to top academic institutions around the world. We seek applicants with the passion and ability to craft and pursue an independent research program, including a strong publication record at top research venues.
Postdoctoral researchers are hired for a one or two-year fixed-term appointment and receive a competitive salary/benefits package and eligible for relocation expenses. Positions in economics and computation require the completion of a Ph.D. in computer science, economics, or a closely related field before starting at Microsoft Research. We also welcome interdisciplinary applications from candidates with interest in economics and computer science but also strong backgrounds in other fields.
The locations open for consideration are the New England and New York City labs. We collaborate extensively with the other groups at our labs (Machine Learning and Statistics, Machine Learning and AI, Sociotechnical Systems, FATE), and with other groups across Microsoft Research.
To be assured of full consideration, all your materials, including reference letters, need to be received by December 15. Applications received after that date may or may not be considered.
This role is not to exceed two years.
