Post Doc - Upstream Development
**The Position** We are currently seeking a highly motivated Post Doc to join the Upstream Team in the Bioprocess Development Biologicals department at our Biberach site. If you are passionate about tackling scientific challenges and contributing to the development of state-of-the-art mammalian cell culture processes, we would love to have you on our team. This Position is limited for 2 years. Note: To make it easier to find our job advertisements, we use the usual designation "Post Doc". Of course, this advertisement is not only addressed to applicants directly after completing their doctorate, but to all qualified candidates. **Tasks & responsibilities** + In your new role, you will develop state-of-the-art mammalian cell culture processes. + In addition, you will work with and further develop state-of-the-art production technologies. + You will develop and implement cell culture media and Upstream platform processes with a special focus on product quality and process related impurities. + Furthermore, you will assess the cellular and metabolic characteristics impacting the quality and post-translational modifications of the therapeutic protein. + You will also be responsible for experimental planning and conducting multivariate data analysis based on a solid biochemical understanding. + Based on your solid expertise, you will actively contribute to the development and set-up of cutting-edge biopharmaceutical production processes as member of interdisciplinary teams. + Moreover, you will author patent applications and scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals. + Additionally, you will mentor undergraduate students. **Requirements** + PhD in biotechnology, biochemistry, cell biology, bioengineering or a comparable scientific discipline + Profound hands-on experience with cell culture technology and handling of mammalian (ideally CHO) cell lines + Hands-on experience in biochemical techniques pared with advanced data analytics and systems biotechnology skills + Knowledge in protein purification and analytics would be desirable + General understanding of post-translational protein modifications and knowledge in protein engineering would be a plus + Proven scientific track record + Very good communication and presentation skills and the ability to plan and implement projects independently + Excellent written and spoken English, a solid communication in German would be a plus **Ready to contact us?** If you have any questions about the job posting or process - please contact our HR Direct Team, Tel: +49 (0) 6132 77-3330 or via mail: hr.de@boehringer-ingelheim.com Recruitment process: Step 1: Online application - application deadline is January 8, 2025.
