The Department of Radiation Oncology is currently seeking a full time Post Doctoral Associate. The incumbent in this position will be working under general supervision of the principal investigator, the postdoctoral fellow will plan and carry out studies focused on cancer cell biology. The overall goal of the laboratory is to understand the key factors that render cancers resistant to therapeutic strategies, and to then develop better alternative therapies that can overcome the disease. The research work performed in the principal investigator’s laboratory is in line with the overall mission of the School of Medicine, in particular in enhancing human health by advancing discoveries from the laboratories to patients.
Develop testable hypotheses.
Conduct experiments both in vitro and in mouse models
Collaboration with other lab memebers (scientists, postdocs and graduate student).
Perform large range of laboratory techiniques, as project demands, such as cell based assays, molecular biology assays, and animal based studies.
Assist in developing improved techniques, projection methods or procedures.
Maintain rodent colonies and perform experiments on cancer models in mice.
Record data and analyze results; maintain careful and detailed laboratory notebooks.
Train and assist with new staff and students
Perform other duties as assigned.
