Through this community of healers, scientists, and scholars, Rutgers is equipped as never before to transform lives.  Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a highly motivated Post Doctoral Associate for the Department of Health Behavior, Society and Policy within the School of Public Health, located in Piscataway, NJ. We seek exceptional candidates to collaborate on quantitative research projects related to the social determinants of health. The Post Doctoral Associate will have the opportunity to join a growing research team with a strong publication and funding track record. For this position, the candidate will work under the direct supervision of the PI on the impact of economic and health policies on population health. Ongoing research that the candidate will be invited to collaborate on includes projects in health economics, the impact of inequality on lifecourse outcomes, and maternal and child health.

The Post Doctoral Associate will join the PRISM research group (Policy Research In Social Determinants of Maternal and Child Health: https://sites.rutgers.edu/prism/), and will lead data management and analysis of large, complex, and longitudinal datasets, as well as the application of quasi-experimental and causal inference methods. The Post Doctoral Associate will also be encouraged to develop their own independent research program. There will be opportunities for authorship on publications, presentation at local and national conferences, teaching, and collaboration on grant proposal development.

The position has an expected start date of January, 2025; however, the start date is flexible. Initial term of appointment is two years.  For this position, the candidate will work under the direct supervision of Dr. Mark McGovern on the impact of economic and health policies on population health. Ongoing research that the candidate will be invited to collaborate on includes projects in health economics, the impact of inequality on lifecourse outcomes, and maternal and child health.  

Duties will include: Manage databases, develop analytical plans, and carry out statistical analysis for manuscripts, reports and presentations using Stata (preferred) or R. Lead, draft, and publish papers in peer-reviewed journals. Give oral presentations to disseminate research findings. Contribute to grant applications based on the research conducted, as applicable.
