Posting Summary The Rutgers Institute of Translational Medicine and Science at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is seeking a Post Doctoral Associate position in Dr. Tricia Burdo’s laboratory. The primary research interest in the laboratory is to understand the mechanisms of chronic immune activation in HIV-associated cardiovascular disease and viral persistence in the central nervous system. The Post Doctoral Associate will perform a high level of research work in an active research laboratory setting with state-of-the-art facilities to study human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) pathogenesis and HIV cure research.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Designs and leads the project as directed by the supervisor. Preparation of high-quality manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, as well as data for research conference presentations and grant applications. Presents findings at national meetings. Maintains accurate records of laboratory notebooks and research activity. Reviews literature and prepares manuscripts and abstracts for submission. Participates in the evaluation of the existing procedures, suggesting revisions where necessary and proposing new procedures where required. Contributes to the development of performance standards, selection of methodology and instrumentation and coordination of the analytical, biochemical, physiology and instrumentation functions with the research areas to ensure conformance with the goals and objectives. As required, assists in the implementation of the programs and projects in special areas of interest to the lab. Provide supervision and guidance to junior staff, undergraduates, and graduate students. Understands and adheres to Rutgers’ compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Perform other duties as assigned.
