KEY DUTIES:
70 % 1. Conduct research on morphogenic-based systems for transformation. 10 % 2. Analyze research data and prepare manuscripts for publication. 15 % 3. Mentor and train undergraduate students in the lab; participate in outreach activities. 5 % 5. Present research findings at local and international conferences.

LEVEL OF DECISION MAKING:
The postdoc will design and carry out experiments, in particular regeneration of maize plants from tissue culture, and maize transformation of embryos and leaves. Constant troubleshooting and optimization of protocols is expected.
SCOPE & IMPACT:
The position involves complex experimental research on protein-DNA interaction, promoting plant regeneration, requiring technical expertise and independent problem-solving. The scope includes the specific project, collaboration with other labs involved in the NSF-funded project, mentoring undergraduates, contributions to outreach activities, and contributing to publications, conferences, and future grant proposals.
