The University of Miami is currently seeking a Post Doctoral Associate to work at Soffer Clinical Research Center in Miami. The incumbent performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.

1.    Conducts research on specific areas of study as assigned.
2.    Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.
3.    Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.
4.    Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
5.    Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
6.    Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Department Specific Functions


1.    Develop and apply innovative experimental/computational strategies for the analysis of large-scale genomics dataset. 
2.    Identify and pursue research priorities in the field of Computational Oncology
3.    Effectively communicates and presents results in seminars and conferences.
4.    Prepares research results for publication and grant applications.
5.    Rigorously documents and maintains a record of research findings.
6.    Maintains up-to-date knowledge of subject, experimental, and professional-related issues.
7.    Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice and guidance.
8.    Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures.

Department Specific Qualifications         

Education:
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree from a recognized institution, must have demonstrated potential for excellence in research on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics

Experience:
•    Research experience in large-scale analysis of multi-omics data, including gene expression, copy number, mutations, methylation, proteomics, metabolomics, and their application within relevant oncology fields 
•    Research experience in Machine Learning and integrative bioinformatics for personalized medicine.
•    Research experience in cancer immunology, spatial transcriptomic/proteomic analysis, protein-protein interaction studies, and/or stem cell analysis is highly desirable.
