Posting Number ACAD455 Job Title Post Doctoral Fellow Position Title Post Doctoral Fellow Position Type Other Academic Number of vacancies 1 Salary Department Comm Hlth/Prev Med-Ch/Pm Position Summary The Center for Translational Research in Health Disparities funded through the Research Centers for Minority Institutions (RCMI) of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) is seeking applications from talented and highly motivated individuals for a Postdoctoral position housed in the Community Engagement Core (CEC). The CEC seeks to develop interest in and expose trainees to community engagement, minority health and health disparities research.

The postdoctoral fellow will work under the supervision of a senior scholar.

The appointment effort is full-time research or scholarship and is considered a continuation of professional training.

The appointee has the freedom and is expected to publish, within the guidelines of the institution, the results of his/her research or scholarship during the period of the appointment.

This appointment is considered temporary and is viewed as preparatory for a full-time academic and/or research career.

*This position will be funded for up to two (2) years. Salary will be commensurate with research experience according to the NIH intramural pay scale* Minimum Qualifications Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent doctoral in appropriate fields Less than five (5) years postdoctoral experience.

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty Facilitates and/or supports meetings with new and/or established partners to collaborate on competitive extramural funding submissions – from development or concept ideation through to proposal submission. Leads and supports collaborative, peer reviewed manuscripts and scientific presentations reflecting the priorities and leadership of the CEC and the broader RCMI. Independently undertakes or collaborates in the planning, development, and implementation of community engagement activities. Leads and supports comprehensive data analyses and summary interpretations and provides leadership and coordination in the development and delivery of reports, presentations, and manuscripts associated with CEC and broader RCMI activities. Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processes employee concerns and problems, directs work, counsels, disciplines, and completes employee performance evaluations. Provides day-to-day technical leadership and functional supervision to lower-level professionals and/or paraprofessionals in the execution of accountabilities and functions. Immunization Requirements It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption.
