**Pay Range:** **$** **61,008 - $** **74,088 Based on NIH scale**

**Summary:**
Incumbent conducts research studies of musculoskeletal health through the analysis of literature, data, images, and text under limited supervision, utilizing advanced degrees of technical proficiency. Designs, initiates, and performs complex scientific research experiments within a musculoskeletal research laboratory using statistics, data science, and machine learning tools. Evaluates data and prepares final reports/papers based on experimental results. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and proceduresa multi-scholar research initiative, or may have lead responsibility for discrete components of a larger research projects or programs, all while under the general direction of a senior or principal researcher.
**Required Job Qualifications:**
• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in relevant science discipline.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Scientific writing skills demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications
• Ability to acquire accurate, reproducible data
• Critical eye towards consistency, reproducibility, and the scientific method in general
• Excellent project and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills
• Advocate for safety and ethics in the workplace
**Responsibilities:**
• Plan, design and execute complex research studies, procedures, and protocols.
• Participate in discovery projects.
• Coordinate research study activities: lead and manage projects.
• Problem solves research challenges and model development, as applicable.
• Contribute discrete components of a larger project under the general direction of a senior or principal researcher.
• Prepare complete documentation of research activities for reference purposes, including following applicable data management protocols.
• Oversee organization, synthesis and analysis of data and findings.
• Compare actual and expected results and suggest solutions to correct the deviations.
• Evaluate existing research or modeling techniques and recommend improvements to ensure quality and productivity.
• Prepare scientific reports, outcome findings and scientific manuscripts.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and reports.
• Assist in teaching classes.
• Perform other duties as assigned
