The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Tandon School of Engineering at New York University is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Researcher position starting in Fall 2024, to join an exciting project on “Responsible Design and Validation of Algorithmic Rankers.”

The program provides Postdoctoral Researchers with mentoring, professional development, and academic networking opportunities, to prepare them for faculty positions in computer science at top universities. The initial appointment is for one year, beginning in September 2024, and is renewable for a second year, subject to satisfactory progress and availability of funding.
Expectations:
The Postdoctoral Researcher is expected to
+ Produce high-quality computer science research, both independently and in collaboration with a Tandon CSE faculty mentor.
+ Co-advise Ph.D students with their faculty mentor.
+ Participate in professional advancement events and NYU campus life.
Salary range:
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,5000 to $80,000, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualification.

+ A $5,000 annual research allowance to support conference travel, publication fees, and other research-related expenses.

Applicants are required to hold a PhD in Computer Science or related discipline. Prior experience in algorithmic ranking, interpretability, and algorithmic fairness is a plus.
