Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral fellow with an interest in cancer prevention and/or pharmacoepidemiology to take a leading role in an externally funded research project on ovarian cancer. The specific project, funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, focuses on the use of intrauterine devices vs. oral contraceptives in relation to ovarian cancer incidence. The fellow will join a team of McGill University professors and researchers at St. Mary’s Research Centre and the Lady Davis Institute, with co-investigators at the Université de Montréal and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Boston). The fellow will collaborate with research staff in the development of the necessary analytic files, lead the statistical analyses, and prepare manuscripts for publication. The position is for one year, with the possibility of extension. The position will start as soon as a qualified candidate is found. Salary is commensurate with experience according to institutional guidelines.


Qualifications:

A doctoral degree in epidemiology

Knowledge of advanced epidemiologic methods

Strong data manipulation and analytic skills using statistical programming software, e.g., SAS

Demonstrated ability to write clearly and logically in English to produce high quality articles

Demonstrated scientific rigour and the ability to synthesize and summarize

Experience with large databases

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Autonomy, leadership and professionalism

Annual Salary:

$60,000 to $68,000 commensurate with experience + Applicable benefits
