Job Summary The Zhu lab in the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center is looking for a Post-doctoral Scholar to study adipose tissue and inter-organ communication in obesity and obesity-related cancer. This position offers a unique opportunity to study lipid metabolism and tissue crosstalk using state-of-the-art genetics, physiology and multi-omics approaches.
Responsibilities include:
· Conduct independent research with supervision and guidance, including publications in peer-reviewed journals.· Design and perform in vivo experiments in various mouse models· Perform mouse metabolic phenotyping and data analyses (e.g. glucose and lipid metabolism, glucose-stimulated insulin secretion, energy expenditure, and histology).· Molecular biology techniques may involve, such as RNAi, CRSPR, and AAV.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities · Strong motivation for metabolic research.· Some experience working with mice.· Proficiency in English (communication, writhing, and presentation).· Interest in learning new techniques.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Background in metabolic research or cancer research.
