Your role and responsibilities
The Veterinary Nursing Post Registration Programme (PRP) is a 12-month programme that combines both professional skills training with hands on clinical veterinary nursing enabling newly qualified nurses to make the transition from student to successful referral Veterinary Nurse.
With the benefit of superb imaging and anaesthesia facilities, as well as specialists working in every discipline, Davies provides a truly rewarding working environment. We have an exceptionally friendly, professional, and dedicated team of nurses who give a warm and supportive welcome to new members of staff. This is an ideal chance for keen individuals to work in one of the UK's leading referral centres and develop their nursing skills.
Experience of working in a referral environment is not required as full support and training will be provided for the successful candidates. The successful candidate will be working alongside our team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, Surgical Veterinary Nurses and Patient Care Assistants to deliver the best veterinary care to our patients.
As part of our structured year-long programme, you will rotate around core areas of the hospital (wards, theatre, and diagnostics) whilst being supported by a trained preceptor (clinical mentor) and skills supervisors (experts in their nursing area). You will be given five professional development days to enhance your career progression and time off rota each week to learn new skills and improve your knowledge base.
