Post Residency Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging Clinician

Wear Referrals is a multi-disciplinary, specialist veterinary referral hospital in the North East of England, close to the historic university city of Durham, the thriving city of Newcastle and set between the north east coast and the Pennines. We have services in neurology , orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, anaesthesia, oncology, diagnostic imaging and  cardiology, as well as an out-of- hours emergency service and in-house physiotherapy and hydrotherapy teams.

With ongoing growth and success based on an outstanding reputation and a commitment to clinical excellence, Wear Referrals, part of Linnaeus Veterinary, are looking to recruit a board-certified or board-eligible small animal diagnostic imager, to work with a growing team of specialists.

Our hospital facilities include a dedicated ICU staffed 24 hours a day, spacious well-designed wards with many walk-in kennels, in-house 1.5T Siemens Magnetom Essenza MRI, 16 slice Siemens Somatom Emotion helical CT, digital radiography, digital fluoroscopy and a Samsung RS85 ultrasound system. In addition to a dedicated ultrasound room, and CT/MRI control room we have a separate radiology reading room.

Our diagnostic imaging team includes 4 experienced human radiographers, who work closely with the radiologists to provide the highest quality cross-sectional imaging, as well as supporting with fluoroscopy and radiographic quality improvement.  

We encourage an evidence-based multi-disciplinary approach, supporting a process of continuous learning and a collegiate atmosphere.  We have an active internship programme and are expanding our residency programmes.  Our extensive clinical caseload will provide an interesting variety of cases and clinical research is actively encouraged and supported. Linnaeus Veterinary provides superb support and facilitates a highly collaborative approach between their hospitals and colleagues.
