This business-to-business sales position is responsible for the sale of contract maintenance programs for Tennant Equipment. The position will also have responsibility for customer/operator training, Aftermarket Parts Sales, and partnering with the territory Account Manager(s). The ideal candidate will communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally with customers. This position includes a base salary plus incentive as well as a company vehicle, cell phone, and laptop.
Responsibilities
Pursue new service contracts and aftermarket business and develop key existing accounts in an assigned territory. Analyze opportunities, identify key personnel, and develop strong business relationships via cold calls, presentations, and following up on leads for new business. Conduct product training after delivery. Provide after sales support to maximize the customer experience for the life of the product. Develop a territory management plan to maximize time with customers in order to seek new business and enhance customer retention by monitoring customer satisfaction with service and parts support and by responding to customer concerns or requests. Utilize online resources to maintain accurate records of sales calls, customer files, and sales activity information. Report directly into an Industrial Market Manager and provide updates on sales activities to the Industrial Director of Sales. Participate in training activities to enhance product knowledge and sales skills with the goal of advancement to other sales related positions in the future.
Required Experience and Education
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university; Bachelor’s degree preferred and a minimum of two years of business experience in technical sales, or a sales/service support role. Ability to effectively present and demonstrate products and services to a wide range of buying influences. Strong aptitude for presentations, demonstrations and training Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people Organize and prioritize business and activities to make the most efficient use of time and resources. Develop and maintain strong knowledge with existing company technology. Time management and prioritization: balance time between post sales follow up, new account development, demonstrations, and ongoing support. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, conflict management, and aptitude to leverage various technologies to drive efficiencies. Effectively use technology to communicate, manage data, record and retrieve customer contacts, and access essential information about our business. Develop and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the sales process.
